Itaf Salem has lived in Gaza her entire life. Beginning on October 2, 2023 — five days before the escalation that would change everything — she began posting to Facebook. What follows is her unedited record: the flour she couldn't find, the cats she fed, the rain that fell into her water containers, the neighbors whose kitchens were gone.
She wrote in Arabic. Facebook translated. We have preserved both where they exist. She posted with her face covered. She is still there.
